1. Organic Cultivation Under Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP)

Organic and Sustainable Cultivation in the Foothills of the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta

Dedicated to environmental preservation and powered by Avicanna’s cultivation projects, Aureus offers cannabinoids sourced from USDA certified organically cultivated hemp and sustainable, sun-grown cannabis. Plants used in the manufacturing of Aureus products are grown using an approach that promotes and maintains a living soil system.

The use of chemical pesticides and herbicides are harmful for the consumer, the plant, and mostly the environment. Chemicals used in conventional agriculture are responsible for poisoning water sources, damaging the soil and diminishing its ability to sequester carbon dioxide which is a major cause for global warming. Our cultivation practices strive to maintain soil free from synthetic compounds as a compromise to our planet.

2. World Class Standards Throughout the Full Value Chain

GACP – Starting from the source of sun-grown cultivation in Santa Marta, the full value chain is integrated, controlled, and tracked from seeds to the final extracts. All cultivation and post harvest is done in accordance with Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (“GACP”) and tracked through Ample Organics software.

GMP – Utilizing Avicanna’s extraction, purification, and analytical expertise, Aureus finished products are processed and tested using the highest international standards of quality in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (“GMP”). Full value chain quality control and analytical testing will ensure that the crops and API meet Health Canada, US and EU Pharmacopeia standards, including analysis of pesticides, heavy metals, aflatoxins, microbial testing, residual solvents, and cannabinoid ratios.

3. High Quality GMP Compliant Products with Global QA standards

Merging Avicanna’s extraction and purification expertise with Sigma’s analytical testing expertise in Santa Marta, assures Aureus finished products are processed and tested to ensure the products meet the highest international standards of quality. This alliance will ensure that the crops and API meet US and EU pharmacopeia standards by testing for 96 pesticides, heavy metals, aflatoxins, microbial testing, residual solvents and cannabinoid ratios.

4. Santa Marta Cultivation Projects, Optimal Environmental Conditions Within the Micro-Climate of The Sierra Nevada

The distinct microclimate of the Sierra Nevada region offers consistent optimal temperatures, low relative humidity, fertile lands, clean water, and a consistent 12 hours of sunlight daily – ideal conditions for the cultivation of cannabis and hemp. This region has historically been regarded as a cannabis cultivation hub, where world famous strains such as “Santa Marta Gold” have been discovered and cultivated.

5. Federally Licensed

Both of Avicanna’s subsidiaries, Santa Marta Golden Hemp S.A.S. and Sativa Nativa S.A.S. are positioned in Santa Marta and are federally licensed producers for cultivation, processing and sales allowing Aureus products to be sold in both domestic and international markets. All commerical cultivars are successfully registered with the Instituto Colombiano de Agricultura (Colombian Ministry of Agriculture).
